Our students take care to have a healthy breakfast every day
Every day, our students have the chance to earn a sticker for bringing a healthy breakfast to school. Once the students have collected enough stickers, they get a prize!
The school provides different fruit, vegetables, yogurt and milk for our students every day.
Our students are learning how to prepare different types of healthy food, with the help of their teachers and parents.
Honey Day
April 19th at our school was entirely devoted to the role of bees and honey in our environment and our health. Our students talked to beekeepers, watched a documentary on the declining number of bees, drank honeyed lemonade and made and ate dishes prepared with honey. The children also learned what they can do to save bees from becoming extinct.

Year 4 cooked eggs in different ways and researched which was healthier. They boiled, scrambled and fried them and then made different flavoured omelettes.

Olive Oil Factory
Students in fourth grade visited an olive oil factory near Toledo.
They were invited to taste bread and olive oil. This so valuable product is very traditional in our region of Castile-La Mancha and in the rest of Spain.

We decorated our Christmas Tree with healthy fruit!
Our school is decorated with activities we do when celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Saint Valentine's, St Patrick's and ohers.
We enjoyed a HEALTHY CARNIVAL at school!!

The supermarket Lidl invited us to this activity called Healthy Breakfast. We had lessons about the importance of keeping a balanced diet. Then, we made our own healthy snack...Mmm, delicious!!

FRUIT DAY AT SCHOOL
Parents invited us to eat melon and water melon during the breaktime at school.

The school, thanks to a Ministerial Programme, provides fruit and vegetable for all the students.
DECODING FOOD LABELS: throught this activity, pupils learnt how to read and critically interpret food labels, in order to make healthier food choices.
This activity was part of the Educational laboratory Program run by Coop (one of the main large-scale food distributor in Italy) and involved fifth grade pupils, who created a lapbook to explain what they had learnt about food labels

The educational programm laboratory run by Coop has involved pupils of 1st classes too.
They "saw" and acquired there are different types of flour and, consequeritly, different types of bread.
Then, they experienced how to make the bread and... finally, they "tasted" it.
So, they learnt "by doing" step by step one of the main food of their daily diet.

Thanks to the European programme "Latte nelle scuole", our pupils and their families are being encouraged to consume milk and diary products because they are a great sources of protein, calcium and vitamins.

project which consists in a set of experiences concerning healthy food habits and proper physical activity,
had the opportunity to know more about rural world.
The farm is a place of active pedagogy, based on a practical vision of learning,
observation and discovery which allows children to learn about agriculture and farm animals.
Children were very happy and interested!!!
